Museums in Edinburgh
If you love history, you will love the museums of Edinburgh. Visit the Royal Museum in Chambers Street , where some exhibitions are over a
million years old and hosted in a fantastic Victorian building. If your children are interested in History you may want to head down to the Royal
Mile in Edinburgh where you will find the history of children museum. Other museums include the Queensferry Museum, Kinneil museum , Scottish
mining museum and the museum of Scotland which is located in the historic old town and hosts over 10,000 of Scotland’s most precious

Sport in Edinburgh
It is no surprise that the main sport in Edinburgh is football ( soccer ) where the main teams are Heart of Midlothian ( Hearts ) and Hibernian (
Hibs ) and these teams regularly attract crowds of over 15,000 at home games at Tynecastle ( Hearts ) and Easter Road ( Hibernian ) . Famous
players who have represented Hearts and Hibs are John Robertson , Dave MacKay ( Hearts ) and Eddie Turnbull, John Collins and even the legend

Similar to Glasgow the rivalry between these two clubs is intense, if you are looking to support a team on match day then wear Maroon ( Hearts )
or green for Hibernian. Murrayfield Stadium with a capacity of over 67,000 is the home of Scottish rugby where you can watch six nation
championship games against rivals England, Ireland, Wales, France and Italy. Rugby is not the biggest sport in Scotland but is very popular in
Edinburgh and surrounding rural areas. Edinburgh is also popular for athletic clubs and in 1986 hosted the Commonwealth games at Meadowbank
stadium.
Edinburgh Zoo
Fun for all the family at Edinburgh Zoo where you will find over 1000 animals ! The zoo has a rich history dating back to 1913 and is only 10
minutes outside Edinburgh city centre. A family ticket will cost just under £30 for a family of four. The zoo hosts a variety of different
animals ( over 120 ) including crocodiles, gorillas and lions.

The standard of dining is improving in Edinburgh with some fine restaurants emerging including Vinters Rooms and Martin Wisharts. You will also
find some decent dining at any of the 4 star hotels located in Edinburgh, especially at the Scotsman Hotel where you can enjoy some fine Scottish
and French dishes. If you are looking for something different then check out The Witchery next to the Castle, this has a theme dating back
centuries when the witches faced execution ! Most bars are open until 12.45 am and clubs stay open until 3 am and even slightly later if a
special event is on. You might want to check out the famous Edinburgh pub crawl which stretches along Rose Street and is not for the faint
hearted if you tackle a drink in every bar !
